FBI Director: Michael Brown investigation will be fair

ATLANTA, Ga. -

The calls for justice are intensifying across the country and now the FBI has stepped in to conduct a separate investigation into the shooting of Michael Brown.

FOX 5's Jaclyn Schultz spoke to FBI Director James Comey on Friday about a timeline in the investigation.

Comey says the investigation will be thorough and will be fair.

Comey says agents are working alongside federal civil rights attorneys on the ground in Ferguson, Missouri, conducting their investigation. County police are also conducting their own separate investigation.

“I understand the frustration of folks who care about the outcome,” said Comey. “We care deeply about the outcome.”

Comey is warning the public that any outcome or answers will take time. He also warns the FBI may not be able to say with certainty what happened before Michael Brown was shot.

“I don't know in any investigation, until I'm finished, whether I have a clear enough view to say, this is what happened,” said Comey.
