Kennesaw celebrates BBQ festival

Posted: Updated:
Don't worry...that incredible aroma of smoke-cooked BBQ isn't just in your imagination.  It's coming from Kennesaw, where the grills are fired up for an annual tradition.  Kennesaw's Pigs & Peaches BBQ Festival runs today and tomorrow, August 22nd and 23rd at Adams Park on Watts Dr.  The event features a Kansas City Barbeque Society sanctioned contest, along with Backyard BBQ, "Anything Butt" and Peach Dessert Contests.  Aside from the food, visitors can enjoy arts and crafts and live music, and a Kid Zone features inflatables and interactive games.  One of the teams to watch out for includes the owners of Community Q, Grand Champion BBQ and Dave Poes BBQ -- and they'll be donating BBQ sales for Atlanta Down Syndrome Association.

Carolyn Ryan with Newsradio1067 was desperate to be part of this "BBQ Dream Team" -- and spent the morning learning all she could.  Click the videos above to check it out!
