Posted: Updated:

Calls for peace in Ferguson, Missouri continue to come in from across the nation. FOX 5's Aungelique Proctor spoke with the King Center's CEO, Doctor Bernice King on Tuesday.

Reverend King says it is all hard to watch and reminds her of the difficult days in our country's history when her father was on the front lines.

King says she wants to focus on solutions for the people of Ferguson. She believes the Ferguson community is crying out for help after years of neglect.

King says we are still divided in America between black and white and have not confronted head on the issues of race relations.

A small delegation from the King Center will head to Ferguson. They plan to meet with every element of the community, including gang leaders and the youth. Once an assessment is done, it is likely Reverend King will travel there too.
