The “ALS Ice Bucket Challenge” is all over social media and it's gone corporate in Atlanta.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord, according to alsa.org. Millions of dollars have been raised to help fight ALS through the Ice Bucket Challenge.
The ALS Association has received $4 million in donations compared to $1.12 million during the same time period last year.
The entire office of Atlanta based company Kabbage took the challenge on Friday, and they're calling out the CEO's of their competitors.
Participants must pour a bucket of ice water over their head and challenge someone else to do the same. If they don't, they're encouraged to make a donation to fight ALS within 24 hours.
