Colorado man rescues baby deer from window well

There is one very thankful mother deer out in Colorado Springs.

Todd Dierdorff told FOX 9 a baby deer fell into his neighbor's window well, so he gently crawled down to retrieve it. The mother deer was watching from a distance, but once he got into the well and the baby deer squealed, she came right over to see what was going on.

Dierdorff said the mother was very nervous, but he was able to save the fawn, who walked away seemingly unharmed.

Dierdorff said he checked with wildlife rescue before doing anything. Deer often wander into their neighborhood but he doesn't know how the deer got into the well.
