Law firm receives death threats in Ross Harris case

Posted: Updated:

The law firm representing Ross Harris is getting death threats.

Although lawyers have not commented, an office worker at the small Marietta firm says they’re getting the threats just because they’re helping Harris defend himself.

FOX 5 spoke with Psychologist Dr. Erik Fisher to learn where the extreme anger comes from.

“I think some people get obsessed with these stories, whether it’s Casey Anthony or this case,” said Dr. Fisher.

Dr. Fisher says we have a group of people who have made up their minds about whether or not Ross Harris meant to kill his son. This is based largely on information that came out in last week’s probable cause hearing that Harris sexted with multiple women the day Cooper died.

“If somebody can do that in their life and behave so egregiously in their marriage, what else can they do,” said Dr. Fisher.

Dr. Fisher says the allegations may actually explain how Harris could have honestly forgotten Cooper in his car.

“"People who engage in addictive behavior, it's not uncommon for them to be neglective of their kids. If he is so consumed about getting on his phone, is he texting and driving? Is he thinking about what he's going to do and who he's going to text,” said Fisher.

Dr. Fisher does not think it’s a stretch to argue he was distracted the day Cooper died.
