FOX 5 is following storms moving through the metro Atlanta area.

Crews were on the scene of Collier Road and Wycliff Road NW where a tree fell into the roadway.

Georgia Power was busy restoring power to customers in Fulton, Gwinnett, Cobb counties.

According to Paul Milliken, our widespread severe threat has come to an end and we're losing the heat of the day, which is helping cut the fuel from developing storms. There are still some pop-up storms capable of producing very heavy rain and frequent lightning, as well as strong winds.

The rain in the storms we saw this afternoon was very heavy, FOX 5 Live VIPIR estimated 4 inches/hour at times, which is an intense downpour.

We'll calm down this evening, with muggy conditions overnight and low in the lower 70s.

Tomorrow, the heat returns -- highs in the lower 90s -- and a chance for more storms in the afternoon.
