Annual Festival Celebrates The Wonder, Beauty Of Butterflies

Posted: Updated:
ATLANTA -

Everybody's seen a beautiful butterfly fluttering through the air of North Georgia. But not everyone gets the chance to hand-feed and hold them!

This weekend's Flying Colors Butterfly Festival at the Chattahoochee Nature Center give families a unique opportunity to see butterflies in a completely new way. On both Saturday and Sunday, visitors can enter the "Butterfly Encounter Exhibit" -- filled with 250 free-flying butterflies just waiting to be hand-fed. Experts will also be on-hand to answer questions about attracting butterflies through proper planting and how to attract other pollinators, too. As for the kids -- they're encouraged to come dressed as a butterfly to walk in the butterfly parades each day!
