A World War II veteran received his first United States passport Monday in Atlanta.
Sherwin Callander, 94, will now head to France for the 70th anniversary D-Day celebrations in Normandy.
Donations poured in for the Alabama veteran who served in Africa, Pearl Harbor and Italy.
He fought years for our country and there’s been a race against time to prove Callander was in fact a U.S. citizen.
Callander tells FOX 5 he looks forward to visiting the graves of American soldiers left behind.
