Mother terrorized by threatening letters

Posted: Updated:
GAINESVILLE, Ga. - A mother is terrified and livid after receiving racist letters in the mail at her family's home in Gainesville.

Destiny Evans, 27, tells FOX 5 she is being targeted because her daughter, 6, is bi-racial.

The letters accuse the woman of being part of a “race mixing experiment group."

Evans has no idea if the person who sent the menacing letters is prepared to stand behind their threatening words.

The mother first received a letter in August which she turned over to Gainesville police. On Wednesday she received a second letter with an image of what appears to be a Mayan Calendar with the message, "Time is almost up race mixer."

The Gainesville Police Department is trying to pull fingerprints and other DNA from the letters and may even bring in the GBI to help track down the sender. If the sender is identified, he or she could face charges of making terroristic threats.
