PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. - The death of Sarah Jones, 27, hit the film community hard. Jones was killed in February while working on the set of the film Midnight Rider in south Georgia.

Actors and production crews all across the country joined in to pay tribute to the assistant camerawoman by participating in the Facebook campaign "Slates for Sarah."

“I've never, seen in my 30 years of doing this, a situation where the entire film industry and our crew was so moved by something,” said Executive Producer Robert Wilson.

Wilson worked with Jones while filming episodes for Drop Dead Diva, a series that films in Peachtree City.

“She was just sort of an amazing person. I didn't know her as well as my crew did but they all loved her very much,” said Wilson.

The show’s crew loved Jones so much that they have organized a benefit concert in her honor. The crew believes that the concert is one more way to keep Jones’s memory alive.

The concert happened Saturday at the Southern Ground Amphitheater in Fayetteville. The concert’s proceeds will go to several charities including the Sarah Jones Scholarship Fund.
