A Pitbull mix found badly abused in Lilburn has a new family.
‘Bruce’ was found wandering at a CVS in March. He was badly burned and had his ears cut off.
Christa and Daniel Nichols drove all the way from Virginia to pick up Bruce after seeing his picture on Facebook.
Bruce was part of Operation Second Chance which is the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office jail dog program. The program removes dogs from animal control which would likely be euthanized and connects them with an inmate at the jail.
The Nichols have two other rescue dogs back home.
Bruce is the 207th adoption for the jail dog program. The program began in 2010.
Police have not identified a suspect for the animal abuse at this time.
