Posted: Updated:

Authorities have identified a man they say is responsible for killing one child and injuring another in a DeKalb Co. hit-and-run accident.

The man was identified as 57-year-old El Salvadorian national Concepcion Cruz on Thursday afternoon. Homeland Security officials believe Cruz may be trying to flee the country and plan to place him on a "no fly" list.

Cruz will be charged with felony hit-and-run.

Officials recently located Cruz's white pickup truck in Gwinnett County but Cruz has not been seen since Saturday.

According to reports from police, Cruz jumped the curb on Tucker-Norcross Road near the entrance to the Wal-Mart Shopping Center running over 2-year-old Caleb Lindsay, killing him, and injuring his 4-year-old sister. The accident happened on April 6.

Witnesses on the scene say Cruz never stopped but slowed down only to throw a beer bottle out of the window.

DeKalb County authorities are actively searching for Cruz.
