KENNESAW, Ga. -

Friends and family are searching for a missing veteran who was last seen in north Cobb County on Thursday.

The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office says 26-year-old Chase Tyler Massner was last seen on Farmbrook Lane in Kennesaw. He was reported missing by his mother and wife.

Friends tell FOX 5 News that Massner is a veteran with two children and this is unusual for him. They say there hasn't been any bank activity since his disappearance which worries them. They were out Sunday distributing flyers in his neighborhood and in the area where was last seen. They formed a Facebook group to help organize the search.

Massner is described as being 6 feet, 2 inches tall and weighing about 175 pounds. He has short dark hair and brown eyes. He has three tattoos: a treasure chest, an angel and his sir name "Massner".

The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office says they are working closely with the Cobb County Person's unit.

Anyone who knows the whereabouts is asked to call 911 or the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office at 678-493-4200.
