Gwinnett County Police have charged one person in a tractor trailer that killed one and injured two in Duluth on Thursday morning.
The accident happened around 7 a.m. on Interstate 85 northbound near the Steve Reynolds Boulevard exit.
According to Gwinnett Police, a tractor trailer was traveling northbound on I-85 in the 3rd lane from the right and a red Honda Odyssey, was traveling northbound in the 2nd lane from the right. When the tractor-tailor merged into the lane traveled by the Odyssey they collided. Both vehicles lost control and slid off to the right side of the roadway.
39-year-old Eric Murray died on the scene and 62-year-old Bryant Garrott and 44-year-old Maria Zeelaya Torres were transported to a local medical center with non-life threatening injuries.
Three lanes were blocked at the time of the incident.
Upon her release, Maria Zeeyala Torres was charged with Vehicular Homicide 2nd degree, No Drivers License, and Failure to Maintain Lane. She was transported to Gwinnett County Jail.
