UNION CITY, Ga. -

Students at Banneker High School were evacuated Friday morning after fire officials say a small fire broke out inside the school.

SKYFOX 5 flew over the scene just after 11 a.m. and spotted students inside the school's football stadium and standing in a nearby parking lot. No smoke could be seen coming from the building.

Union City Firefighters tell FOX 5 News that the fire broke out in a small utility closet inside the school. They evacuated the students as a precaution.

Firefighters say they allowed staff and students back into the building about an hour after they arrived.

Calls into the Fulton County School District were not immediately returned.

No word on the cause of the fire.
