"American Idols" Rally Behind Kids Fighting Cancer

Posted: Updated:
ATLANTA -

Every week on "American Idol" we watch young talents singing in front of judges, hoping to make their music dreams come true. This weekend, the same thing will be happening in Atlanta -- though the contestants each have a very special story.

Rally Idol will bring five young singers to the Buckhead Theatre stage Friday, each one affected by childhood cancer. Whether they've battled cancer -- or are singing for someone in their life who has -- these talented youngsters each have an inspiring story. They'll be singing in front of an all-star panel of judges, including Idol alums Bo Bice, Lauren Alaina, Haley Reinhart, and Anthony Federov -- and fans can "vote" online by donating to childhood cancer research. Incredibly, the entire show was the idea of 12-year-old Emily Roach, who wanted to do something to help other kids dealing with cancer.
