Lookout posted for missing Newnan runaway

Posted: Updated:
COWETA COUNTY, Ga. -

The Coweta County Sheriff's Office has posted a lookout for a missing Newnan teenager who they believe ran away from home.

The lookout is for 17-year-old Amy Danielle Ellis, who was last seen at 155 Holly Drive in Carrollton.

The lookout states Amy had her father's permission to go to Carrollton in February with a female known as Melissa who was supposed to help tutor the teenager with math.

The father believed Melissa was supposed to take Amy to and from Newnan High School.

He later learned Amy had not been attending school.

After the father texted his daughter to indicate he was filing a missing person's report, Amy reportedly texted him to say Melissa was bringing her home on March 7.

When she didn't come home, the father filed the missing person's report on March 9.

Deputies describe Amy as a white female, 4'10" with brown hair and green eyes.

Investigators believe she may be riding in a red Ford extended cab pickup truck with a driver named Rob.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Amy Ellis is asked to call the Coweta County Sheriff's office at 770-253-1502.
