An investigation into an early Monday evening robbery at a convenience snarled traffic along a busy Gwinnett County highway.
The robbery took place at a BP convenience store off U.S. Highway 78 at Rosebud Road.
A Gwinnett County police spokesman told FOX 5 officers at first thought the robber might still be in the store when they arrived, so they diverted traffic in front of the store.
Several FOX 5 viewers said they were stuck in traffic along U.S. 78 for some time during Monday evening's rush hour.
Officers set up a perimeter around the store as they searched for the robber.
After they determined the robber was not inside and had left the store on foot, Gwinnett police scaled back the number of police units at the store and began searching the nearby area.
Gwinnett Police Corporal Jake Smith told FOX 5 no one was injured in the robbery.
Smith said police will not release surveillance video of the robbery at this time.
