Smyrna man arrested for molesting, impregnating girl

SMYRNA, Ga. -

A Smyrna man has been arresting for allegedly impregnating a teenage girl and molesting her over the course of five years.

Smyrna Police Department say Michael Joseph Johnson, 33, of Smyrna was arrested after A joint investigation with the Division of Family and Children Services.

Police say the molestation occurred between August 2005 and December 2010. They say the victim was under the age of 16 at the time.

Investigators say the victim gave birth to a child believed to be fathered by Johnson in Nov. 2010.

Johnson was arrested in Fort Walton, Florida, but now been extradited back to Georgia. He is currently in the Cobb County Jail without bond.

He is being charged with 2 counts of Child Molestation, Aggravated Child Molestation, Aggravated Sexual Battery, Rape, and 1st degree Cruelty to Child.
