Fire destroys College Park apartment

COLLEGE PARK, Ga. -

The American Red Cross has stepped in to assist 33 people who were displaced by a Wednesday morning apartment fire.

The three-alarm-fire broke out at about 5 a.m. at the Old Towne Villa Apartments on Godby Road.

According to the College Park fire chief, the fire started in on of the apartment's walls and it quickly spread to the attic and then the rest of the building.

The building was evacuated. And no injuries were reported.

A team of Red Cross volunteers is in process of providing emergency food, clothing and shelter to the 14 adults and 19 children who lost their homes, in the fire.
