A bus driver who was fired after a provocative Facebook post is pushing back against the school district that let him go last year.
Johnny Cook and the ACLU filed suit against the Haralson County school district Wednesday.
Cook vented on his Facebook page last may about an encounter with a student who he says told him he was hungry that day because there wasn't enough money on his school account to buy lunch.
In the post, Cook also made reference to public funding for food stamps and crack heads.
Haralson County school officials asked him to apologize and remove the post or he'd lose his job.
Cook's attorneys contend that was a violation of his constitutional right to free and protected speech.
