ATLANTA, Ga. -

Charges have been dropped against a man who was involved in a deadly pedestrian accident along the Downtown Connector, according to Atlanta Police.

Officers say Lee Watts struck the male victim Tuesday night as he was attempting to cross the interstate near Courtland Street.

Watts told investigators that he didn't see the victim until the last second, and could not avoid striking him.

Watts was initially charged with 2nd Degree Vehicular Homicide and driving with an expired license. Those charges have now been dropped.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
