WAYNESBORO, Ga. (AP) - Waynesboro police say they found the body of a missing Alzheimer's patient in the laundry room of a nearby house.

Police Chief Augustus Palmer III told the Augusta Chronicle no arrests have been made in the death of 77-year-old Arletha Diane Bennett. Police say the Georgia Bureau of Investigation has been called to help probe the woman's death.

Bennett, a retired teacher, was reported missing Jan. 16 after leaving her home.

Details on the woman's cause of death are unclear.
