Metro Atlanta man launches political tracking website

SUWANEE, Ga. -

If you don't follow politics closely, trying to learn more about an issue can be quite overwhelming. A local man has launched a website that not only helps you keep up with it all, but holds lawmakers accountable.

Consider it the Facebook or Twitter for politics. On PoliticalTracker.com you can follow politicians and issues that really matter to you and it all shows up on your personal news feed.

The site allows you to keep up with lawmakers and track exactly what they're doing with your tax dollars.

"It's a way to know everything they sponsor, everything they do on Facebook and Twitter to provide the user the insight on exactly what their elected official is doing" said PoliticalTracker.com founder Steven Hayes. "You can follow different bills, every time something happens on that bill, you see them."

Hayes of Suwanee came up with the idea because there was no simple way to keep up with the political world. The site tracks state and national leaders. Users can add their personal interests to their news feed. He hopes the site will allow taxpayers to hold their lawmakers' feet to the fire.

"This gives a platform to really speak your mind and really know what's going on," said Hayes.

PoliticalTracker.com just launched last week and it will be adding more and more features in the next month. The site is free.
