Security breach on Fulton County court website

Posted: Updated:
FULTON COUNTY, Ga. -

Some are calling it a massive security breach that exposed people's birth dates and social security numbers online for anyone to see.

It took place for some two months and involved everyone whose name appears in Fulton County's new on line court system. Even if you just got a traffic ticket.

Fulton County's new case management system was installed last August at the cost of $15 million.

But, at some point in time, personal information not only names, but social security numbers, and birthdays: a perfect recipe for identity thieves.

FOX 5 Senior I-team reporter Dale Russell found a savvy citizen and some fast reactions by government officials may have solved the problem.

Taking on a big bank, even over something like a minor bank error, can be maddening. You feel like no one is listening. It's like being trapped in a maze you can't get out of, but somebody is noticing how frustrating that can be.
