Driver upset over ParkAtlanta's repeated mistakes

Posted: Updated:
ATLANTA -

An Atlanta motorist is fuming because the city's parking company keeps giving him tickets for vehicles he does not own.

ParkAtlanta, the company that enforces parking laws for the city, is aware of the mistake and has apologized but it keeps happening.

Jim Christian said that he's been tagged three different times over the last eight months for tickets involving a Chevy truck and an Oldsmobile – neither of which he owns. The tickets were dismissed when the company admitted the mistake.

"They assured me this would never happen again, it was a computer error and that would never receive a summons or violations from them again," Christian said.

Eight months later, he got ticketed again.

Christian's tag on his black Lexus has a prestige plate letter of "C", which causes a glitch for meter workers. When ticketing any vehicle, if they punch in the letter "c" out of sequence, it will list Christian as a violator.

A vice-president for Duncan Solutions, ParkAtlanta's parent company, promises Christian will get a heartfelt apology and that he faces no fines. He said the system will be re-programmed so that Christian doesn't get another ticket.
