Pregnant Ga. woman, baby killed in crash

Posted: Updated:

ACWORTH, Ga. (AP) - Cherokee County sheriff's officials say a pregnant woman and her baby have been killed in a car crash.

Lt. Jay Baker says 26-year-old Tiffany Robbins of Acworth was turning into Woodstock Road and pulled into the path of an oncoming vehicle Saturday afternoon.

Baker says Robbins, who was seven months pregnant, was alert and conscious when emergency responders arrived. Baker says Robbins' 3-year-old daughter was restrained in the back seat and also suffered minor injuries.

Baker says the woman and her daughter were taken to Kennestone Hospital and the baby died after an emergency C-Section was performed. Baker says Robbins also died of internal injuries after the C-Section.

Baker says the driver of the other vehicle wasn't injured.
