Authorities trailing accused Air Force deserter

Posted: Updated:

ATLANTA (AP) - U.S. Air Force officials say they're trying to find a man accused of not reporting for duty.

Air Force officials say 30-year-old Capt. Robby Williams III didn't report for work Dec. 23 and has eluded authorities since then. Investigators say Williams has stayed in hotels and motels in South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee and was last seen in Waco, Ga.

Air Force officials say Williams was driving a 2013 black Jeep Wrangler with a South Carolina license plate reading ITC701.

Williams is described as an African-American man who is about 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs about 190 pounds. Authorities say Williams also uses the alias "Robby Lawton."

Tipsters with information on Williams' whereabouts are asked to call U.S. Air Force Special Investigations at (571) 305-8484.
