One year passed since the "end of the world"

Posted: Updated:

Saturday marks a rather odd anniversary for the human race: It has been one year since the world was supposed to end.

That is according to the Mayans whose calendar "ran out" on December 21, 2012 leading many to believe the date marked the end of the world.

Of course, there have been discrepancy in the date due to the many calendar changes since the conversion, but the results have all been the same: We are still here.

Sociologists believe that doomsdayers will just pick another date in the future, but we haven't heard a good one lately.

But for now, maybe we should just party like it's 2012!
