2 more ex-APS teachers plead guilty in cheating scandal

ATLANTA -

Two more former teachers entered guilty pleas in connection to the Atlanta Public Schools cheating scandal on Monday.

Shayla Smith, a former teacher at Dobbs Elementary and Sheila Evans, a former teacher at Benteen Elementary both admitted changing student's test answers during the 2007 debacle.

In exchange for their guilty pleas and cooperation with prosecutors, both will get leniency from the court in the form of probation and community service along with a fine.

In all, 34 educators face criminal charges, including former Superintendent Beverly Hall. Including Smith and Evans, four educators have entered guilty pleas.
