ATLANTA -

Federal authorities say they know who kidnapped a teenage girl from her home at gunpoint in the middle of the night and now they want him in custody.

In a release sent to FOX 5 News on Thursday, FBI spokesperson state that they are searching for Christopher Joseph Atkins, aka "C.J.", 19, of Atlanta. They say a federal grand jury has indicted Atkins and arrest warrants have been issued for him for Conspiracy to Kidnap and the Discharge of a Firearm During a Crime of Violence.

Officials say Atkins broke into a home on Brookgate Drive in Ellenwood around 2 a.m. on Sept. 15 and abducted 14-year-old Ayvani Hope Perez after demanding money from the family. In the process, they say Atkins shot the family dog. Perez was found a few days later.
