A judge denied bond Thursday to one of the men accused in the kidnapping of a Clayton County teen.

Wildrego Jackson is accused of conspiring to kidnap 14-year-old Ayvani Perez.

Perez was abducted on September 17, when authorities say armed men broke into her family's home in Ellenwood and took her at gunpoint.  The 14-year-old was returned safely to her aunt's Conyers home about 36 hours later.

Jackson was taken into custody the day after the teen's return when he appeared in court for an unrelated case.

In the bond hearing in federal court on Thursday, an FBI agent said that there is solid evidence connecting Jackson to the early morning abduction, including two cell phones that reportedly belong to Jackson.

The federal prosecutor said that one phone was used to make ransom calls after Perez was kidnapped from her Ellenwood home.

"Those two phones were calling each other right after the kidnapping, and they were also both hitting off the cell tower which services the area of the victim's residence during the time of the kidnapping," said Assistant U.S. Attorney Katherine Hoffer.

Federal prosecutors say at least nine calls to the Perez family were recorded in the hours after the teenager was kidnapped. The FBI agent who arrested Jackson said that one of the voices matched Jackson's.

"He had actually been in the same room with Mr. Jackson and spoken with him at length and the moment that he listened to the ransom calls after speaking to Mr. Jackson, he said, ‘I know that's him,'" said Hoffer.

Jackson was taken back into federal custody after the judge denied him bond.

Another man, 40-year-old Juan Alberto Contreras-Rodriguez, was arrested and is being held on immigration charges. Prosecutors believe four or five people could be involved in the kidnapping.
