Stone Mountain woman back in home after bank dispute

Posted: Updated:
STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. -

A Stone Mountain woman who received national attention in her battle over a home foreclosure dispute is back in her home.

Mildred Garrison-Obi, along with supporters from the group Occupy Our Homes Atlanta, defied a November eviction notice and moved back into her home in March.

The group claimed she'd been wrongly evicted.

After a sit-in at a Bank of America branch, protestors say she and the bank worked out a truce and now she's back in her home for good.

Mildred, along with 37 other homeowners engaged in similar fights will fly to Washington, D.C. next month to stand trial against the Department of Justice.

Mildred's story was recently featured in Rolling Stone magazine.
