Trio of bears take a stroll through Forsyth Co. community

FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga -

Someone might want to tell Goldilocks that it looks like the coast is clear!

Recently, people living in a Forsyth County neighborhood got a wild surprise strolling by just outside their doors this week. Take a look at what they found!

Jeff Adler sent FOX 5 Atlanta these photos of three bears seen wandering in the Polo Fields community. They were spotted on Tuesday walking through yards and down local streets.

Adler was driving along Majors Road and Post Road when he saw the bears.

"I'm at a four-way stop and I see three little bears cross the road and it takes my brain a second and a half to process what I just saw actually happen and that I'm not at a zoo," said Adler.

Adler said that he warned a man working on a sprinkler system that three bears were headed his way. He said that the guy gave him a suspicious look.  Seconds later, Adler heard the man shout, ‘Here they are! Here they are!"

Adler said he got close enough to tell that one of the bears was a proud papa.

"I'm blown away.  You have to disassociate yourself from being at the zoo," Adler said. "That's where we are used to seeing bears.  I didn't know bears existed in this area."

The bears even climbed a fence to visit one neighbor's backyard!

The Georgia Department of Natural Resources says it's not uncommon for bears to wander down from the North Georgia Mountains.

State wildlife officials say you should not feed any bears you may come across and make sure that all garbage cans are closed tightly. They  suggest that you back away slowly -- don't run -- and make lots of noise.
