Usher's 5-year-old son has been hospitalized after nearly drowning at a pool on Monday, according to police. Usher Raymond V is in the intensive care unit at Children's Health of Atlanta at Scottish Rite after the accident, police said.

Authorities say around 2:40 p.m., the child got his arm stuck in a drain in the pool at a house on Howell Mill Road.

A 911 call captured some of the drama:

"I need the ambulance," said a woman who identified as Rena Oden. "My nephew was in the pool. He went and I couldn't get him. I tried to get him."

Neither Oden nor a maid were able to free the boy, but two men working in the house dove in the pool and were able to get him out.

The boy was given CPR and rushed to the hospital. According to the police report, the boy was alert, conscious and breathing.

"He's breathing. He's on the side of the pool," Oden said in the 911 call.

Doctors say he'll be OK, according to TMZ.

Usher was not at the home at the time, but did visit his son at the hospital, FOX 5's Aungelique Proctor reports.

Usher Raymond V is the older of the singer's two children with his ex-wife Tameka Foster.

Last summer, Tameka Foster's 11-year-old son from a previous relationship, Kile Glover, died from injuries suffered when the child was struck with a jet ski as he was riding in an inner tube behind a boat on Lake Lanier.

Just weeks ago, Foster appeared on FOX 5's "Good Day Atlanta" talking about Kile's World, a foundation she created in her son's memory.

Usher has primary custody of his two sons, but FOX 5 has learned that Foster has filed court documents asking for an emergency custody hearing. She said that the singer is putting the children in a dangerous environment.
