SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WJBK) -

Meteorologist Ben Bailey announced Friday that he is leaving FOX 2 after nearly nine years.

On his Facebook page Thursday afternoon, Bailey posted the following message:

"After nearly nine years at Fox 2, I've decided it's time for me to move on. I appreciate the opportunity Fox has given me to do what I love most. A heartfelt "thank you" to all of our loyal viewers. You are the reason for our success in the morning. I'll be waking up with you one last time tomorrow morning. All the best!"

Bailey started his career in broadcasting at an Indiana AM radio station while still in high school. Since then, he's worked and lived in Illinois, Missouri, Virginia, Tennessee, and of course, Michigan.
