Police have arrested a Loganville man accused of threatening a man with a gun in what police are calling a road rage incident.

It happened on Atlanta Highway in Loganville on Thursday.

Police say 45-year-old Terry Alan Duyvejonck pointed a  9 mm handgun at the victim before getting into a parking lot brawl with him.

"When the officers arrived, they actually found the two gentlemen on the ground fighting in the parking lot of the business," Loganville Police Chief Michael McHugh said.

McHugh calls it a road rage incident, He said that Duyvejonck told officers he thought he was being followed after passing the victim because he was driving too slow. However, it turns out it was pure coincidence that they ended up in the same parking lot.

"The victim and his wife were en route to the business to have dinner," said McHugh.

Duyvejonck also said he was scared because the victim pulled him out of his car.

The chief said that pulling out a gun was the wrong thing to do.

"Dial 911 or drive to the police station if you're familiar with the area," McHugh said.

The suspect faces up to 20 years in state prison if he's convicted of aggravated assault and pointing a gun at another.

McHugh said that Duyvejonck is also charged with striking an unattended vehicle because, somehow during the tussle with the victim, his car hit another car in the parking lot.
