ATLANTA -

Those who were lucky enough to be at a screening of the new film World War Z at Atlantic Station on Thursday got a big surprise.  Brad Pitt-- who produced the movie and stars in it as well-- showed up to welcome the audience and thank them for supporting the movie.

Pitt surprised fans who were attending a special early screening of the movie, which opens in theaters on June 21.

"I'd assume some of you cut some classes to be here," Pitt told the crowd before the movie started.  "We're gonna make it worth your while!"

He also came armed with t-shirts.

Pitt even gave the home team some love to get things started, saying, "I wanna give a shout out to the Braves!"
