LAGRANGE, Ga. -

Police are investigating a late-night shooting in LaGrange that left seven people hurt.  Investigators believe a fight started in a park, and that led to three different people firing shots at one another in the crowd.

According to LaGrange police, officers were called to Union Street Park, located on Union Street near Ware Street, at about 9:30 p.m. Sunday night because of a disturbance with a large crowd of people.  When they arrived, police heard several gunshots, and people began running from the scene.

Police found four people in the park who had been shot.  One of the victims was flown to Columbus Medical Center, and three others were taken to West Georgia Medical Center.  Later, two more shooting victims were found at West Georgia Medical Center, and another went to Lanier Memorial Hospital in Valley, Alabama.

Investigators identified Xavier Edmondson and Lewis Antonio Shells as two of the three suspects shooting into the crowd.  Police say the third suspect was described as a black male who was wearing dark-colored clothing.
