BB gun accidentally fired at Ga. high school

GAINESVILLE, Ga. (AP) - Police in Gainesville say a student was injured in an accidental BB gun shooting at Johnson High School.

Hall County Schools spokesman Gordon Higgins tells the Gainesville Times (http://bit.ly/11QuZit) a student was showing his BB gun to a classmate in the school's media center when it accidentally discharged and shot a student who was sitting nearby.

Officials say the unidentified student who brought the gun to school and the student who was handling when it discharged have been suspended. The injured student was treated by a school nurse.
