DeKalb detention officer accused of having sex with inmate

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. -

DeKalb County authorities accuse a detention officer of having sex with a male inmate in exchange for food and contraband items.

Sheriff's investigators took Zel Mitchell into custody on Thursday. he's charged with sexual assault on a person in custody, public indecency and violation of oath of office.

Mitchell has been fired from the DeKalb County's Sheriff's Office.
