DeKalb County woman first to purchase home under new program - Atlanta News, Weather, Traffic, and Sports | FOX 5

DeKalb County resident Sharon Cabey was given keys to a brand new home on Wednesday.

Her new house is in the Piedmont Point subdivision in Lithonia.

Her piece of the American Dream was made possible by the DeKalb County Neighborhood Stabilization Program. She is the first to purchase under this program.

Cabey moved to DeKalb County in 2007 after her daughter and husband died in separate car accidents just days apart.  She rented a home for years, but now is proud to have one to call her very own.
