Marietta sixth-graders held a fundraiser Friday in support of a classmate battling cancer.
The students held a "Freedom Dance" to raise money for their beloved friend and classmate Mary Tankersley.
Doctors diagnosed the 11-year-old with a bone tumor in November. She's undergone chemotherapy and doctors had to remove a portion of a leg.
Friends and family felt compelled to come together to show their support and how much Mary means to them.
About 200 friends took part in the fun. There was even a version of the "Harlem Shake."
They also created special wristbands for "Team Mary."
So far, more than $8,000 has been raised.
