DA clears 3 men accused of stealing from Glock

MARIETTA, Ga. -

A prosecutor in suburban Atlanta has dismissed all criminal charges against a former federal prosecutor and two other men who had been accused of stealing funds from global gun maker Glock Inc.

Cobb County District Attorney Vic Reynolds told the Fulton County Daily Report (http://bit.ly/Z5VRcG) that he dismissed the three-year-old indictment against former Assistant U.S. Attorney James Harper, Atlanta attorney Jeff Pombert and Marietta resident Jerry Chapman. Reynolds said the charges were dropped after his white-collar crime prosecutor reviewed the case.

Harper had been hired by Glock to investigate fraud. Prosecutors accused him and two members of his investigative team of billing for services not rendered. However, Harper's attorney said repeatedly that the fees were legitimately billed and no crimes were committed.
