Chef Jason Ellis whips up pork skewers

The flames are heating up in the kitchen again and Chef Gordon Ramsay is ready for a new batch of contestants for a new season Hell's Kitchen.

Former contestant Jason Ellis stopped by Good Day Atlanta on Tuesday to talk about what it takes to be on the show while he cooked up a tasty pork dish!

Recipe: Redd's Apple Ale Sesame Pork Skewers

Ingredient List


4 tablespoon of sesame oil
2 teaspoons of garlic powder
2 teaspoon of onion powder
2teaspoons ginger powder
2 pork tenderloins cut into medium cubes
6 wood skewers
¼ cup apple juice
2 tablespoons of red sugar
1½ bottles of REDD'S APPLE ALE
2 tablespoons of white balsamic vinegar
3 tablespoons of black sesame seeds
3 tablespoons of white sesame seeds
2 teaspoons of soy sauce
2 teaspoons hot chili flakes
2 teaspoons of five spice  

Preparation:


In a large bowl mix together garlic powder, onion powder, 2 tablespoons of sesame oil, 1 teaspoon of ginger powder, apple juice, 1 bottle of REDD'S APPLE ALE, soy sauce, hot chili flakes,1 teaspoon of five spice. Place 3 to 5 pork cubes on each skewer. Submerge pork skewers in mixture and let marinade over night. When ready heat 2 tablespoons of sesame oil in a nonstick hot pan over medium high heat. Remove pork skewers from marinade and coat in black and white sesame seeds then sear in hot pan on all sides until brown then place in 350 degree oven  for 6 to 7 minutes or until desired doneness is reached. In a separate pan place all remaining ingredients and reduce down over medium heat until thick sticky syrup consistency is reached. Place skewers on plate and drizzle sauce over skewers then serve.
