Police say they found hundreds of marijuana plants growing in a suburban home in southwest Atlanta on Monday.
Authorities said that home, located in the Glen subdivision, was a sophisticated pot grow house.
Officers responding to the scene on an unrelated call on Sunday said they noticed the odor of marijuana coming from the resident.
"Oh yeah, you could smell it every day. You smell it like it's next to you," said neighbor Chris Collins.
After police returned with a search warrant, they say they found most of the house was set up to produce pot. There were several different rooms with no furniture of plants with irrigation systems and special wiring.
"There were approximately four rooms that were set up and the marijuana plants were divided up in those rooms according to size," said Officer John Chafee of the Atlanta Police Department.
According to police, at least 250 marijuana plants were found inside the home, with a value estimated to be $500,000.
Authorities say no arrests have been made yet. Investigators are in the process of obtaining arrest warrants.
