ATLANTA -
Heavy rain is expected for the metro area on Monday afternoon as a cold front pushes through the state, and it could make the commute from work to home a messy one.
FOX 5 Storm Team Meteorologist Jeff Hill said that the rain was moving into the metro area at 5 p.m. The rain, which could be heavy at times, is expected to last until midnight.
Winds will gust around 20 to 25 mph through the afternoon for the metro area. Gusts of 40 mph may be possible for the higher elevations in north Georgia, said Hill. All of north and central Georgia are under a Wind Advisory until 8 p.m.
Feldman says rainfall amounts of ¾ to more than 1 inch are expected for areas throughout north and central Georgia before the rain ends.
