STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. -
Firefighters rescued a man and two cats from an burning apartment complex on Sunday.
The fire happened at the Lake Louise Apartments near Stone Mountain. Firefighters worked to rescue a trapped disabled senior resident inside one of the burning apartments. He was taken to the hospital and was in stable condition.
They worked to put out the fire and found two cats inside. They used oxygen on the felines who suffered smoke inhalation.
Fire crews were able to get the fire under control, but not before gutting the apartments. The Red Cross is helping about a dozen of the residents.
