DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. -
A former DeKalb school secretary accused of preying on elderly and disabled adults was sentenced to 30 years on Monday.
Ward was found guilty of exploiting six elderly and disabled adults. Prosecutors say she locked them up, stole their money and forged their names on government checks.
Ward was ordered to spend 20 years of her 30-year sentence in prison and must pay more than $14,000 dollars in restitution to one of the disabled victims.
